Proven Leadership

DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT Councilman Shoaff supports responsible downtown development with a mixture of public and private funding sources. He wants to see downtown once again become a commercial and residential destination.

PROTECTING AND ENHANCING NEIGHBORHOODS Councilman Shoaff has worked for thriving, safe neighborhoods throughout the entire city that nurture families and strengthen Fort Wayne.

HARRISON SQUARE Councilman Shoaff voted against the wasteful and excessive public expenditures on an un-needed baseball stadium in the Harrison Square project. (read John Shoaff's letter to the editor)

Committed to the Community

HeadwatersCouncilman Shoaff led the 12-year effort to create Headwaters Park, a $16 million project with no local tax investment that now serves a vital role in flood mitigation and welcomes festivals, families and events year 'round.

The Journal Gazette has said that "(Shoaff) is best known for his advocacy for the city's parks, but during his time on the council he has shown that he is not a one-issue candidate. serving as an active and engaged representative of his constituents."

Councilman Shoaff has strengthened and improved the community through work with individuals and neighborhoods, and has advocated for all citizens through his efforts on the following important committees:

* Truck Ordinance Committee, formed after he initiated legislation to reactivate an existing but non functional ordinance.

* Ardmore Improvement Committee

* Sign Ordinance Committee

* City-County Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee

* Flood Control Committee, which he formed and currently chairs

* Mayor's Green Team.
