Keeping Balance in Fort Wayne City Government

As a resident of the Third District for over thirty years, I feel there are three basic issues facing Fort Wayne and our citizens:

1. Economic Growth: We need to attract jobs that pay well and offer benefits.  Because of my financial and accounting experience, I have a full understanding of how jobs affect the taxing streams and benefit the community.

2. Revitalization and improvement to the neighborhoods: Many residents of the 3rd district are facing day-to-day issues that are important to the community and will be a priority for me. Our neighborhoods are the window to our community, and we must maintain their integrity and beauty. 

3. Public Safety:  Fort Wayne has a reputation for having an excellent police and fire force, both with exceptional training.  I would like to explore the possibility of expanding this training to neighboring communities, in order that other cities benefit from our well-trained professionals. This would have the potential of additional income to our city.

 

The Third District of Fort Wayne (see map at left) is an area rich in churches, schools, parks, and businesses. We have beautiful neighborhoods, both old and new, with citizens who are committed to making these neighborhoods great places to live. The Third District is the home to Smith Field Airport, the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, Foellinger Theatre, Glenbrook Mall, Science Central, and Spiece Field House, just to name a few of the businesses and attractions.

My goal if elected is to work extensively with the neighborhood associations and to be accessible to all the residents of the Third District and Fort Wayne.
